Born and raised in Southern California to hard working immigrants.
I had a “good job” in government and was rising through the ranks. I hated it. Unmet goals poked at me with a pointy stick. Pondering life led me to continue my studies at Mt. SAC and eventually to graduate from California State Polytechnic University Pomona. Goals accomplished; the world opened wide.
My fascination with art and design began early on when I came across unique logo marks, the likes of which I found to be powerful, beautiful yet simply conveyed. Def Leppard album covers, Transformers logos and Star Wars icons come to mind as well as a host of others. I loved cars and trucks growing up so drawing cars as a child made me happy.
In university, art history courses enlightened me to the masters of art and architecture so much so that they eventually led me to travel to Europe to see many of the pieces first hand in cities like Paris, Amsterdam, Venice, Rome and London. The design curriculum rounded out my production and planted the seeds to creativity.
After college, I started out as an intern for Saatchi & Saatchi in Torrance where I first tasted the rigors of deadlines and new business pitches. Since then I have worked my way up from production artist to art director and beyond. I’ve worked on projects for a myriad of businesses including telecommunications, banking/financial, non-profits, automotive, energy, manufacturer and retail. My experience includes working with small start-ups to large US companies. My most recent position was an art director for a boutique web development firm in Orange County where I was responsible for creative design for new and existing clients.
Currently I work for a manufacturer outside Los Angeles which showcases my work both traditionally and digitally all over the world.
